Ruthan Brodsky
Ruthan Brodsky is a nationally known freelance writer whose works have appeared in numerous consumer, business and organizational publications. Over the past 25 years, she has created a market niche as an expert in writing and presenting seminars about challenges and health issu es that confront the elderly. Her areas of expertise have expanded to include women’s health and fitness issues.
Ruthan started her own freelance writing business while she was Editor of a peer-reviewed journal on Gifted Education. “I was one of the founders of the quarterly journal whose international status grew quickly. I loved what I was doing especially working with professors so they could receive tenure by publishing articles in the journal. Even so my curiosity and passion were directed to science and health so that when the newly formed Department of Gerontology at Wayne State University offered a post masters in gerontology, I jumped at the opportunity.”
During the last two years Ruthan’s has experienced a marked increased in the amount of writing she is doing for small businesses.
Ruthan is a member of the American Medical Writers Association, The National Association of Science Writers and an associate member of The Golf Writers Association. She recently won an award from the Arthritis Foundation for her article on Cross Training. As a member of the Association of American University Women- Birmingham Branch, Ruthan volunteers and writes the chapter’s press releases.
